Back by popular demand: Join coaches Les and Claudia for a transition workout in Central Park on Thursday July 29th at 7pm. We'll meet at the eastern end of the 102nd Street Transverse. The workout will consist of bike/run repeats - bike the upper loop of the park (about 1.4 miles including Harlem Hill), then change into your running shoes and run to the west end of the transverse and back - and then do it all over again! (Expect to do 3-4 repeats plus warm up and cool down.)
Transition workouts are designed to help you conquer triathlon's fourth sport - when you can get in and out of transition quickly, it's essentially free time off your race total - and hey, who doesn't like something for free! Plus, transition and brick workouts help you get used to that heavy feeling that you get in your legs between the bike and the run - the more you practice the bike/run transition, the less discomfort you'll have on race day.
Be sure to bring water and a snack for after the workout; if it's broilingly hot or pouring rain, we will reschedule.
